Open position: Junior Cost Controller

Location: Tortona (AL)

For our headquarters in Tortona, Sinelec is seeking a Junior Cost Controller—reporting directly to the Cost Control Manager—to support the planning and control process for industrial costs associated with project execution, with a specific focus on tracking direct and indirect project costs. Additionally, the role involves analyzing variances between estimated and actual costs and proposing corrective actions to improve results.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the semi-annual budgeting process, ensuring the timely updating of cost ratios and unit costs, the alignment of the budget with the work schedule and the updated subcontracting plan, and the preparation of relevant reports;
  • Verify monthly actuals and analyze variances against the budget, ensuring these are shared with the Project Manager and project management, and prepare monthly reports;
  • Highlight variances between the current budget, the initial bid estimates, and subsequent revisions;
  • Collaborate with the Management Control department to provide the data required for budgeting, cash flow analysis, financial planning, investment analysis, etc.;
  • Provide Management Control with the data and reports needed to evaluate the project’s financial performance;
  • Provide project teams with information regarding the upcoming scheduling of resources (materials, labor, and subcontracts).

Requirements:

  • Diploma as a Land Surveyor or Electrical Technician, or an Engineering degree;
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills;
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
  • Residence in the province of Alessandria or Turin preferred; alternatively, willingness to complete a training period at our Tortona (AL) or Trofarello (TO) offices;
  • Willingness to travel and relocate.

Contractual Classification and Compensation

  • Applicable Collective Agreement: National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Compensation: The initial gross annual salary for this position will be no less than €33,000.00.

Any variable components or benefits will be outlined at a later stage and governed by applicable company policies.
